Kaila Devi (Karoli)


Karoli is one of the District of Rajasthan.60 km far away from Dholpur Distrivt of Rajastha.The main reason of being famous is "Kaila Devi Temple".So mostly people come here for this temple.It is a tourist place so from all sides/regions of country people come and pray to Goddess"Karoli " For their happiness, growth.




Kaila Mata is an incarnation of Hindu goddess Durga. Kaila Mata is also worshipped as the Goddess Mahalakshmi.In the month of Chaitra (according to the Hindu calendar), for a fortnight starting from 12th day of Chaitra Budi. For fifteen days in March or April.
Kaila devi fair is helds at the temple of Kaila Devi, who is worshipped as the guardian deity by the Yadavas, the Khinchis, and the princess of Karauli. In the courtyard of the temple, there is a small temple of Bhairon and a temple facing the Kaila Devi's shrine houses Lord 'Hanuman', called 'Languriya' in the local dialect. Thousands of devotees belonging to all the communities visit the place throughout the year. The fair attracts a lot of pilgrims from other states also such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh , Punjab , Delhi and Haryana, who offer cash, coconuts, kajal (kohl), tikki (vermilion), bangles and sweets to the goddess.
Around 60 lacs pilgrims flock to this place every year. This temple is regarded as one of the 9 Shakti peeths of goddess Durga.
1000 of buses, cars and other vehicles bring these people here. Lacs of devotees come on foot also. A real sea of humanity engulfs the surrounding area for around 15 days. Such a large assemblage of devotees require tremendous efforts for provision and maintenance of basic civic amenities and services.
